Samsung has presented the Galaxy M34, a 5G handset with a 120 Hz Super AMOLED display and up to 8 GB of RAM. Samsung has also committed to delivering four major OS updates and a fifth year of security updates, outdoing its competitors.

Samsung has now released a successor to the Galaxy M33 5G following a short teaser campaign. Not only has Samsung equipped its new model with a few upgrades compared to the Galaxy M33 5G, but it has also tweaked its design to resemble other recent releases, such as the Galaxy A54. Thus, the Galaxy M34 5G sports three rear-facing cameras arranged vertically and within individual camera lenses.

Additionally, Samsung installs a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. According to the company, the panel operates natively at 2,400 x 1,080 pixels and has a 120 Hz refresh rate; it has not disclosed brightness details yet, though. For some reason, Samsung has left the chipset unchanged between generations, with the Exynos 1280 returning alongside 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM.

Similarly, the Galaxy M34 5G has a 6,000 mAh battery that supports 25 W wired charging via its USB Type-C port. Elsewhere, the handset has a 50 MP primary camera with OIS, plus 13 MP ultra-wide-angle, 2 MP auxiliary and 8 MP front-facing cameras. Arguably the standout feature of the Galaxy M34 is Samsung’s commitment to delivering four major Android updates up to Android 17, with another year of security patch updates. The Galaxy M34 will be available first in India from INR 17,999 (~US$218) with 128 GB of storage and 6 GB of RAM. Alternatively, Samsung offers the handset with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage for INR 18,999 (~US$230). The company has not confirmed whether it intends to sell the Galaxy M34 outside India yet, though.
